Lake Ouachita State Park, Arkansas

With Rachel out of town on business I decided to head Southeast for a weekend of camping and boating in Arkansas with my buddy Clint and brother Bryan. Rafting in Mulberry, AR was our original destination but due to inadequate rainfall we decided to change our plans to boating and fishing.
We all were suppose to met up Friday night but only Clint and I made it. Bryan couldn't resist the temptation of a woman Thursday night and needed all day Friday to recover. To my surprise he did wake up early Sat. morning and made it out to the lake by 10am. As for me, Google Maps predicted it would take 7 hrs to drive from Wichita but I made it in 6. It would have been 5 if Arkansas didn't have sub-70m.p.h speed limits.
The weekend was a success for the most part. However, Friday night we had to deal with an over zealous park ranger. The ranger expected all the campsites to be silent and have lights off by 11pm. When I say silent I mean absolutely no noise. First, he made us turn down our radio followed by turning it off completely. When that wasn't enough he told us if we couldn't whisper then we should go to sleep. I will give the ranger credit for one thing. By forcing us into our tents earlier then expected he did save me from having a hangover the following morning.
After a small mix-up at the marina we hit the lake Sat. morning in a 30ft. pontoon boat instead of the 21ft one we thought we reserved. 10ft per dude wasn't bad. It gave us plenty of room to move about and a roof to dive off of and host push-up competitions. Fishing was abandoned early because Brandi, Clint's dog, would dive in trying to retrieve the lure after every cast.

If we do this again next year I would have one requirement: Rachel in a bikini!!
